What is a Personal Blog?

Some people think that having a personal blog, means that you should only write about what you have done in your weekend, what do you eat every morning, what did *Put-a-name-here* said about your new dress and where did your best friends boyfriend kissed you when you were drunk.

It’s not wrong to do this, sometimes I write about my friends and other everyday-life things, but there are days when I want to talk about movies or the music industry. The articles about these are personal opinions, so they perfectly match with a personal blog.

What can also indicate that you are reading a personal blog?(for dummies)

• a photo in the sidebar with a short description
• the tag-cloud where most of the words are “personal”, “diary”, “journal”, “boyfriend”, “friends” and much more
• the categories(the same as the tag-cloud)
• the “About” page, where you can find a long description about the writer
• all the names or nicknames from the Blogroll or Top Affiliates(people tend to write the names of the personal-bloggers, a software-only blog would put the name of the site)

   I guess a lot of people still blog about the daily stuff. But personal blogs have evolved over the years that people usually have blogs that cover a wide range of topics.

   But I guess the important thing is… blogging is fun.

   I think it’s a fairly common misinterpretation that personal blogs are just about what the blogger did that day. My blog is about me, and everything that has anything to do with me. I talk about my family, my interest etc. which is what makes it a very personal blog.

   Hehe, I have a personal blog and the only trait that it has that you listed is the About Me page. Oops. Maybe I should add those. The blog role used to be there. Oh no, I should get on that soon. Thanks for the reminder.
